Delete your Gloaming account

This page is for the Gloaming app.

In the app

1. Phone: open You, then Account, then Delete my account. Computer: open Settings, then Account, then Delete account.
2. Confirm. If you signed in with Apple, the app may ask you to sign in with Apple once more so Apple's link can be ended.

By email

1. Write to hello@getgloaming.com from the address on the account, saying you want it deleted. That is how we know it is you.
2. We reply to confirm, and delete the account within 30 days. We tell you when it is done.

What is deleted

Your account and everything in it: profile, kit, places, targets, calendar, posts and pictures, lessons and streak, notifications, groups, events, trips, messages and comments you wrote, likes, and your link to Apple if you used it. Pictures are removed from storage, not just hidden.

What is kept, and why

• Reports. A report you made stays so we can keep people safe, with your name removed from it. Reports and the evidence copy attached to them are cleared 12 months after the report, sooner than that if nothing is open.
• Feedback you sent. The text stays, with no link to you.
• A picture an open report points at waits until that report is decided, then goes.
• Backups. Deleted data drops out of backups within the backup period.
• The team's action log holds an account number and no email, for at least 3 years.

Photos saved on your own phone or computer stay there. They are yours.

Take your data first

In the app, choose Export my data. It gives you one file with everything the account holds.
